Minister Lisa A. Jones

is a devoted woman of faith, anointed to teach, evangelize, and minister through praise and worship. As the First Lady of New Life Community Baptist Church (NLCBC), she passionately serves alongside her husband, Bishop Frederick O. Jones, using her gifts to uplift and inspire others on their spiritual journey.

​

A true example of a virtuous woman, Minister Jones leads the Sisters of Faith Ministry at NLCBC, where she empowers women through prayer, mentorship, and fellowship. She has organized impactful prayer breakfasts and events designed to strengthen and encourage women in their walk with Christ.

​

After years of faithfully preaching at churches throughout the community, Minister Jones accepted her call to ministry and was licensed on December 9, 2006. Her journey has been a testament to God’s grace, as she has overcome personal challenges with unwavering faith. Through her testimony, she proclaims God as a healer and miracle worker, inspiring others to trust Him through every trial.

​

Minister Jones has been happily married for 34 years to Bishop Frederick O. Jones. Together, they are blessed with two wonderful daughters, Nicole Mayfield and Tiara Jones, a beloved son-in-love, Ray Mayfield, and three precious grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella Mayfield and Olivia Mayfield. Raised with a firm foundation of faith by her parents, Bishop Robert and Elder Alice Christmas, she remains deeply grateful for their guidance and spiritual upbringing.

​

One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 34:1: “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” She lives by this verse, continually giving God glory in all circumstances and encouraging others to do the same.

Elder Prentices W. Jeffcoat

answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on March 10, 2006. Later that year, on December 9, 2006, he delivered his initial sermon, “Appreciating God's Initial Gift” from John 3:16, at New Life Community Baptist Church (NLCBC) in Gainesville, Virginia, under the leadership of Bishop Frederick O. Jones.

 

At NLCBC, Minister Prentices has faithfully served in multiple capacities, including as a music ministry percussionist, new members and Bible study instructor, youth ministry leader, and worship leader. His passion for ministry extends beyond the church walls, as he has been blessed to preach and teach at revivals, church conferences, and worship services across Virginia, Delaware, and South Carolina.

​

Guided by unwavering faith, he stands firmly on Psalm 25:2: “O my God, I trust in thee; let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.” His mission is to proclaim the Gospel, inspire transformation, and lead others into a deeper relationship with Christ.

Minister Angela Folkes

is a dedicated servant of God whose passion for ministry and love for the Lord shine through in every aspect of her service. She preached her initial sermon at New Life Community Baptist Church on November 6, 2016, marking the beginning of her public ministry. Under the spiritual guidance and mentorship of Bishop Frederick O. Jones, she became a licensed minister and continues to grow in her calling.

​

A founding member of New Life, Angela has faithfully served the church for over 20 years. Her deep-rooted commitment is reflected in her active roles on the ministerial staff, within the music ministry, and as a devoted teacher in both Bible Study and Sunday School.

​

Angela’s heart is fully dedicated to God’s work, and she seeks to advance the Kingdom through every opportunity to teach, minister, and uplift others. Her sincere desire is that her life and ministry reflect the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ in all she does.

Minister Derrick Hart

is a devoted servant of Christ and a passionate spiritual leader, known for his steadfast commitment to faith, teaching, and discipleship. His ministry journey began in 2009 at Abundant Life Baptist Church in Jacksonville, NC, where he faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for both teens and adults—laying the foundation for a life of purposeful service to the Kingdom.

 

On October 29, 2017, Minister Hart preached his initial sermon titled “It Happens at the Cross” (Luke 23:39–43) at New Life Community Baptist Church in Gainesville, Virginia, under the leadership of Pastor Frederick O. Jones. Since then, he has continued to lead and inspire through the church’s teaching ministry, serving as both a Bible Study and Sunday School teacher. His messages are marked by biblical depth, authenticity, and a heartfelt call to live in alignment with God’s divine purpose.

 

Minister Hart's passion for the Gospel extends beyond the local church. He actively serves as a missionary to Sierra Leone, sharing the hope of Christ and helping to uplift communities in need. His ministry is deeply rooted in Isaiah 61:1–3, reflecting his dedication to healing the brokenhearted, proclaiming liberty, and uplifting those in despair.

 

When he's not ministering, Minister Hart enjoys disc golf, traditional golf, and farming—activities that mirror his appreciation for God’s creation, the importance of fellowship, and the need for spiritual rest and renewal.
